Maildot for macOS

Connect Gmail does nothing

Google sign-in opens in a sign-in window. If you close it before you finish, the app shows that sign-in was canceled. Select Connect Gmail again and complete the steps in the window.

The Dock icon shows no number

Maildot shows a number only when your Inbox has unread messages. If you expect a number, open the Maildot window. It shows the connected account and the time of the last check. Make sure your Mac is online.

Clicking the icon opens a new Gmail tab

To switch to an existing Gmail tab in Brave or Chrome, Maildot needs Automation permission. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Automation, then turn on your browser under Maildot. With other browsers, Maildot always opens a new tab.

Change how often Maildot checks

Open the Maildot window and choose a check interval from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.

Disconnect your Google account

Open the Maildot window and select Disconnect. Maildot revokes its access and removes its sign-in credentials from your Mac. You can also remove access at Google Account › Third-party connections.

What Maildot can see

Only your Inbox unread count and your account email address. Read the privacy policy for the details.
